Woot!

I've not posted in quite some time now, as life's been tremendously busy.  Here's an update:

1. First Person Impressions film contest through First Person Arts.  Won second place for a five-minute film on Route 66.  Much happiness.  Finally, I feel back on track with this whole filmmaking thing.

2.  Travel writing.  Taking a class at Temple University CC to learn how to write better, how to get stuff published, and how to get comped for being on assignment.  Great stuff.

3. Aikido.  Third kyu (second degree blue belt) test went well.   Still hanging in there, but not going as often as I should.

4. The economy.  Wrecking my portfolio.  Sheee-it.

Overall, things are great!  Check back again soon and I promise to be pithy.

Thanks! Film will be available in late November, because of the contest's legal rights of first publication. I'll post it here when it's ready!

Congrats!

Congratulations Carter! Your film was excellent, and we enjoyed reviewing it. For those who are interested in seeing it, it will also be screening at the First Person Festival, November 11th-16th at the Painted Bride Art Center here in Philadelphia. You can find out all about it at http://www.firstpersonarts.org All of the winning films, photographs and essays will be presented on November 12th during the "Best Impressions" event, right after the performance of the Complaint Choir (http://complaints.firstpersonarts.org)

Anyway, thanks for posting about your selection, and I look forward to meeting you in person! Take care,

Andrew
